DBC - A Spark From Anonymity!!

Hi everyone! For my first blog on blogger( My first Blog this year!!) i'd like to share something which is very close to my heart and which ends its first year on 21st of this month ( BTW I have my business xam on the 22nd :-().

'DBC' or 'D Beginners Club' was started by us ( which includes Anupam, KD ,me and many more...) in our third semester to make the freshers , who were "beginning" ( ** origin of 'B' in DBC ** ) their lives in the ""technological world"" , comfortable with engineering ( this is only the official reason presented to the dean-CSE , there were many more less noble ones!!!). The first session took place on 21st august 2008, at CTV 104.

The first session we took was on ...'the wonders programming can do!!'( the first class was attended by 46 students)... . Subsequently, We had sessions on ' C ' . Once the Mid sems for I years were over , we had a session on 'Digital Film Making' and showed movies and videos made by us during DAKSH that year. The class was attended by a record 117 students. Then we had further sessions on 'C language' includng graphics,pointers etc and the response of the first years was encouraging.

As we entered the IV semester...we started off a bit late. We had our first session(that semester) on 'The journey of languages' which dealt with how languages evolved from low level languages to HLL's like C# and JAVA. After that we had our sessions on 'C++' and a session on 'Online programming in gcc( for DOPE)' before daksh. We also covered many latest technologies on the way 'CLOUD COMPUTING' , 'BRAINFCK' , 'CHEF-ESOTERIC PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE'. The penultimate session was taken by anubhav(ECE dept.) on the topic 'STEGANOGRAPHY and MATLAB'.

We'll be having the last class on 21st of this month ( 21st , incidentally is the same date we had the first class) , the topic will be 'ALL YOU CAN DO WITH MICROSOFT'. We'll be giving an intro about various microsoft technologies like
- Windows 7
- IE8(which i am using nw!! and its gr8)
- AZURE
- PHOTOSYNTH
- POPFLY
- SURFACE
- Second Light etc.

Also, the MICROSOFT STUDENT PARTNER,SASTRA university natraj sir will be coming to our last session.He has been an inspiration and guide to us in everything. Hope all goes well on Tuesaday.

P.S I have mid sems from 15th....i hope they go well too!!

WALK ON THE MOON

We walked on...Oblivious to the people's stares..
"Damn!!Should've taken the back road".. I cursed myself...
Hey but this is not how it starts....
Here is how the story fares:

"Sir! How does NASA know that the place apollo landed was the Moon?" I
Asked,
as Agarwal sir, who was explaining how NASA had reached the
moon(for the last 20 minutes), stared at me,
"I mean,did anyone flash a torch from there and it was seen on the
earth as coming from the moon?"
The whole class laughed....bt then I realized- I had spoken too much,too
soon......
after 10 minutes(Somehow, sir had forgotten to allow me to sit down on
my seat!),the bell rang...

Everyone went away as my doubt was being cleared in the 'staff room
two',
"He just asks those silly doubts to disturb the class!"said Mrs. Mehra to
everyone,
said Mr. Gupta,"NASA has a lot of proof abt that even if it doent share
them with you !",
Apologizing I came out....cursed the school nd began to pack my things as
the clock rang three...,
she stood at the exit...and when i came out..she looked at me,
she was prettier than any girl i had seen....she came forward.(my guts backflipped!)

"Er!My brother cant pick me today.Would you mind walking to my home with
me?" ,
I looked at her,(MIND!!of course i did not mind).though i had seen her in class...she didnt look soo pretty frm that distance!!
I Looked at my watch (to show her that i had some work to do),i decided to
agree.....
"Okay!" I said(trying not to look too pleased with myself)....

Me , and my bicycle walked along with her...as we reached the main road
that led to her house,
"So! Did NASA really landed on the moon?" she asked(i doubted
if she was mocking me)......
"Well,They landed on something surely....bt some say it was not the
moon."(Gr8! I'm discussing MOON THEORY!!!!),
after a few moments the topics began to change....
the moon led to Prof agarwal(with all my will,I restrained myself frm
cursing him!),
from profs to the school...to friends....(girlfriends!)...her home's newly
built lawn...
So chatting away...we walked on.


We walked on...oblivious to the people`s stares,
"Damn!Should've taken the back road"..I thought as I cursed
myself ,
We walked on...ignoring the older peoples glares,
"Here!lets take a left from here...well reach faster."she said.....pointing to a small road.
My stomach did several backflips and cartwheels....we walked forth,

"My house is just 2 blocks away from here....."she said....
"Thank god!" i said...smiling(trying to hide my
disappointment).."HELLl!WTF!!" I thought..
As we reached closer to her house ...we ceased talking....
i ws still smiling(as i think i ws doing during the whole
journey!!)..
we reached her house...."Bye" I said...
"Come Inside! Atleast Drink some water"....she asked..
"OF COURSE!" I wanted to say...Somehow.."NO THANKS...I HAVE TO GO
SOMEWHERE!" was all that came out of my mouth....

Disgrunted...I hopped on my cycle and started riding away....
"Tell me if you come to know abt the moon!"she laughed...(damn!she
looked beautiful....!)
my stomach gave a yelp and did a few more cartwheels....as i rode
away...
"shit!" I cried aloud....as I reached the main road again...i began to
croon.
At that moment..i did not know abt the NASA bt surely I had WALKED ON THE MOON!!!
